ComCare Long-Term Assistance (LTA / Public Assistance)
Anyone who asks for your OTP or Singpass password, or asks you to pay before you can get government support, is a scammer.
ComCare LTA (also known as Public Assistance) supports people who are permanently unable to work due to old age, illness or disability, and who have little or no income and family support. This includes elderly people receiving only small payouts from sources like CPF Retirement Sum/CPF Life, a pension, ElderShield, or the Lease Buyback Scheme, and elderly people whose adult children are themselves lower-income (per capita household income benchmark of $800/month or below, raised from $650 in July 2023) and unable to support their parents. Benefits can include monthly cash for living expenses and household bills (rental, utilities, S&CC), a secondary tier for recurring essentials such as medical and hygiene items, a discretionary tier for one-off purchases, help with medical bills at public healthcare institutions, and free or highly subsidised access to home help services and Senior Activity Centres, plus supplementary cash or in-kind aid such as food rations and vouchers from community agencies.
