ComCare Short-to-Medium-Term Assistance (SMTA)

Anyone who asks for your OTP or Singpass password, or asks you to pay before you can get government support, is a scammer.

ComCare SMTA gives temporary financial support to lower-income individuals and families who are temporarily unable to work, looking for a job, or earning a low income and need help with daily living expenses. It can include monthly cash assistance, help with household bills (rental, utilities, Service & Conservancy Charges), assistance with medical bills at public healthcare institutions, employment assistance via Workforce Singapore and NTUC's e2i, and referrals to Family Service Centres. It is typically granted for 3 to 6 months at first and renewed if the household still needs support. Eligibility is guided by a per capita household income (PCHI) benchmark, raised from $650 to $800 a month in July 2023 — this is not a hard cutoff, and Social Service Offices assess each household's circumstances holistically.
