Looking after someone can feel lonely. Our volunteers are trained to listen without judging or giving advice, in person at the library annex or by phone. Sessions last up to an hour and are confidential. If you need more support than we can give, we will help you reach a counsellor or a helpline.

Free respite for people looking after someone at home. A trained, friendly volunteer spends three hours with your loved one while you rest, run errands or sleep. A free lending shelf of books and leaflets on dementia, stroke recovery, caring for a child with special needs, and looking after yourself. Take one home and return it when you are done. We also keep a list of helplines and caregiver groups taped to the shelf, so you never have to search for a number.

Free one-to-one help with your phone from a patient volunteer: video calls with family, SingPass, banking apps and WhatsApp. Pick your language: English, Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialect. Bring your phone and charger. Walk-ins are welcome on Saturdays, or message us to book a weekday slot.
